- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and cut it in until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the milk and creamy peanut butter until smooth, then stir into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips evenly into the dough.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat it into a 1-inch thick disc, and cut into wedges.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown, then let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, ensure your butter is very cold. You can freeze the butter for about 10 minutes before cutting it into the flour.
