Description

Delicious scones made with creamy peanut butter and chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and cut it in until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the milk and creamy peanut butter until smooth, then stir into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips evenly into the dough.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat it into a 1-inch thick disc, and cut into wedges.
  7. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown, then let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure your butter is very cold. You can freeze the butter for about 10 minutes before cutting it into the flour.
