Description
A soft and fluffy cake bursting with the natural sweetness of ripe peaches, perfect for summer celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups peeled and sliced peaches
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Gently fold in the sliced peaches.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using almond extract in addition to vanilla. Ensure your peaches are ripe for the best taste. You can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
