Description

A delicious, savory treat perfect for snacking or serving at gatherings, this homemade cracker packs a flavor punch with cheesy, oniony goodness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (optional)
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, Parmesan cheese, softened butter, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. If the dough is too dry, add water gradually until it holds together. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into desired shapes.
  4. Place on a baking sheet, sprinkle with herbs if using, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
  5. Allow the crackers to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cooled crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze for up to three months.
