Description

An incredibly flavorful dish that elevates the humble onion with a rich blend of spices and seasonings. Perfect for family dinners or barbecues.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet onions (Vidalia or Walla Walla)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon chili onion crunch
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Peel the onions and cut a 1-inch hole in the top of each onion.
  2. Scoop out some of the insides of the onions, creating a bowl, and place 1 piece of butter into each well.
  3. Melt the remaining tablespoon of butter in a microwave-safe bowl, then mix in chili onion crunch, minced garlic, paprika, Old Bay seasoning, Cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Pour over the onions.
  4. Wrap each onion in foil and place them in a baking dish. Bake for 50-60 minutes until fork tender, checking every 10 minutes.
  5. If desired, broil for 2-3 minutes for a caramelized finish. Serve warm.

Notes

Use high-quality sweet onions for the best flavor. Adjust seasonings as desired.
