Tender and flavorful rolls made with oats and molasses, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients

- 2 cups rolled oats
- 2 cups boiling water
- 3 tablespoons molasses
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the rolled oats and boiling water. Allow to sit for 30 minutes.
- Stir in molasses, sugar, salt, and butter until melted and combined.
- Dissolve dry yeast in warm water and allow to activate for 5 minutes.
- Add yeast mixture to oat mixture and stir to combine. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the dough to release air bubbles and shape into rolls.
- Place shaped rolls in a greased baking pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
Best served warm with butter or honey. To store, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
