Description

A delightful casserole combining ground beef, earthy mushrooms, and creamy Swiss cheese with pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz pasta (cooked)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Breadcrumbs for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet.
  3. Add the chopped onions and sliced mushrooms, sauté until translucent and softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until fully browned, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Combine the beef mixture with the cooked pasta, beef broth, and milk in a large mixing bowl. Stir until well mixed.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Top with shredded Swiss cheese and breadcrumbs if desired.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
