- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate
- 2 cups white sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter (for frosting)
- 2 – 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract
- 2–4 drops green food coloring
- 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt together butter and chocolate.
- Add sugar and eggs, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa, flour, and salt.
- Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for about 30 minutes.
- While the brownies bake, beat together the frosting ingredients until fluffy.
- Spread frosting on cooled brownies and pour melted chocolate over.
- Allow topping to set before slicing into squares.
Notes
Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
