- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Adjust seasoning if needed, then serve over pasta or use as a pizza sauce, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes while mixing the tomatoes. Use fresh herbs for a brighter flavor.
