Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.
  3. Add the softened butter, eggnog, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chopped nuts if using, and pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool before dusting with powdered sugar if desired.
