Ingredients

- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe mug, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking powder until well combined.
- Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, and stir until smooth.
- If desired, fold in the chocolate chips. Microwave the mug on high for about 40-60 seconds, until the cake has risen and is set but still soft in the center.
- Let it cool for a couple of minutes before enjoying.
Notes
Serve directly in the mug; consider dusting with powdered sugar or adding vanilla ice cream on top. Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat before serving.
