Description
A delightful blend of rich chocolate and bold espresso flavors wrapped in a graham cracker crust. Perfect for satisfying chocolate cravings or celebrating special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups crushed graham crackers
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons espresso powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, mix crushed graham crackers, melted butter, and granulated sugar until well combined. Press firmly into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then let cool.
- In a saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add chopped dark chocolate, espresso powder, and salt. Stir until smooth and the chocolate has melted. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Pour the chocolate espresso mixture over the cooled crust, using a spatula to spread it evenly across the surface.
- Refrigerate the tart squares for at least 2 hours or until firm. Once set, cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
Notes
Use high-quality dark chocolate for the best flavor and texture. If you don’t have espresso powder, instant coffee is a suitable substitute.
