Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until a cohesive dough forms.
  5. Press half of the dough into the bottom of the greased baking pan evenly.
  6. Pour the caramel sauce over the pressed dough and spread it evenly.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough over the caramel layer.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  10. Let the cookies cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze them for up to three months.
