Description
A delightful and easy homemade cranberry sauce that balances tartness and sweetness, perfect for holiday meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz fresh cranberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 orange (zest and juice)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and freshly squeezed orange juice. Stir gently to mix the ingredients.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely.
- Once boiling, add the fresh cranberries. Allow the mixture to return to a full boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
- Remove the saucepan from heat, then stir in the orange zest for an extra burst of flavor. Let the sauce cool to room temperature before serving.
