Description
A spooky treat combining creamy flavor and savory goodness, these Ghoulish Stuffed Mushrooms are perfect for Halloween festivities.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 large mushrooms
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Food coloring (green or purple for a ghoulish effect)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lightly greasing it or covering it with parchment paper. Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp cloth, and carefully remove the stems to create hollow caps for stuffing.
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and a few drops of food coloring. Mix everything until well combined and the colors are evenly distributed throughout the filling.
- With a spoon or your hands, generously fill each mushroom cap with the creamy mixture, packing it down slightly to ensure each cap is filled to the brim.
- Arrange the stuffed mushrooms on the prepared baking sheet and place them in the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and bubbly. Serve warm.
Notes
These stuffed mushrooms pair well with dips like marinara sauce or garlic aioli. They can be made ahead and baked right before serving.
