- 1/4 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
Instructions
- Mix together the flour, salt, garlic powder, dried herbs, and instant yeast until well combined.
- Stir in warm water until a shaggy dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, shape it into a ball, and let rest for 30 minutes.
- Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.
- Cool the bread on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
For best flavor, the longer you let the dough rise, the better. Fresh herbs can enhance the flavor significantly.
