Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

Instructions

  1. Mix together the flour, salt, garlic powder, dried herbs, and instant yeast until well combined.
  2. Stir in warm water until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, shape it into a ball, and let rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.
  8. Cool the bread on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For best flavor, the longer you let the dough rise, the better. Fresh herbs can enhance the flavor significantly.
