- 1/2 cup frangipane (almond cream)
- 1 cup mixed fruits (such as raspberries, blueberries, and diced apples)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Allow the mixture to sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy, indicating that the yeast is activated.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the softened butter, frangipane, vanilla extract, and the activated yeast mixture. Mix everything together until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread a generous layer of frangipane over the dough, then evenly distribute the mixed fruits on top. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into rolls. Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet.
- Let the rolls rise again for another 30 minutes to puff up.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg wash for a beautiful golden finish. Bake for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
