Description
Delightful cookies shaped like footballs, perfect for game day or any sports-themed event.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Green and white icing
- Football-shaped cookie cutter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Use a football-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies.
- Place the shaped cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool completely before decorating with green and white icing.
Notes
For a fun twist, consider adding chocolate chips or nuts to the dough. If the dough is too sticky, chill it for 30 minutes before rolling out.
