Description

Delightful cookies shaped like footballs, perfect for game day or any sports-themed event.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green and white icing
  • Football-shaped cookie cutter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Use a football-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies.
  6. Place the shaped cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let the cookies cool completely before decorating with green and white icing.

Notes

For a fun twist, consider adding chocolate chips or nuts to the dough. If the dough is too sticky, chill it for 30 minutes before rolling out.
