- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup fresh figs, halved
- 1/2 cup blue cheese, crumbled
- Fresh rosemary, for garnish
- Additional olive oil for drizzling
- Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Mix warm water with yeast and sugar, and let it sit until frothy, about 10 minutes.
- Combine the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the well in the flour, and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Press fig halves and blue cheese into the risen dough, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with rosemary and coarse sea salt.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Allow to cool slightly before cutting into pieces and serving.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. Pairs beautifully with a charcuterie board or a light salad.
