- 1 cup warm eggnog
- 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup eggnog (for glaze)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- Pinch of nutmeg (for glaze)
Instructions
- Warm the eggnog to about 110°F, then combine it with yeast and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the mixture, then gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and softened butter in a bowl for the filling.
- After rising, punch down the dough and roll it out into a large rectangle.
- Spread the filling mixture over the dough to the edges.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 22–28 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare the glaze by beating together cream cheese, eggnog, powdered sugar, and nutmeg until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
Serve warm for the best taste. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
