Description

Delightful eggnog cinnamon rolls combining festive flavors of eggnog and cinnamon, topped with a creamy glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm eggnog
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup eggnog (for glaze)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Pinch of nutmeg (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Warm the eggnog to about 110°F, then combine it with yeast and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the mixture, then gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and softened butter in a bowl for the filling.
  6. After rising, punch down the dough and roll it out into a large rectangle.
  7. Spread the filling mixture over the dough to the edges.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 22–28 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Prepare the glaze by beating together cream cheese, eggnog, powdered sugar, and nutmeg until smooth.
  12. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve warm for the best taste. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
