Description

A delightful dish of tender chicken thighs coated in a crispy exterior with a rich soy garlic sauce, perfect for any dinner table.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 3 tbsp potato starch
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp neutral oil for pan frying
  • 8 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks green onion, green and white parts separated
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock (or substitute with water and chicken bouillon)
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • Garnish: Green onion (green part)
  • Garnish: Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Dry the chicken thighs with a paper towel.
  2. Mix potato starch, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then coat chicken thighs with the mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat, fry chicken for about 7 minutes on each side until golden brown, then set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté garlic, green onions, and chili flakes until garlic is golden brown. Add sauce ingredients and cook until thickened. Return chicken to pan, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate chicken thighs in soy sauce, honey, and garlic for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust heat level by modifying red chili flakes.
