- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 3 tbsp potato starch
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 3 tbsp neutral oil for pan frying
- 8 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 stalks green onion, green and white parts separated
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- 1/2 cup chicken stock (or substitute with water and chicken bouillon)
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- Garnish: Green onion (green part)
- Garnish: Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preparation: Dry the chicken thighs with a paper towel.
- Mix potato starch, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then coat chicken thighs with the mixture.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat, fry chicken for about 7 minutes on each side until golden brown, then set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté garlic, green onions, and chili flakes until garlic is golden brown. Add sauce ingredients and cook until thickened. Return chicken to pan, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate chicken thighs in soy sauce, honey, and garlic for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust heat level by modifying red chili flakes.
