- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 3/4 cup sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a larger bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until everything is mixed together.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into small balls and roll them in sugar.
- Place the balls onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving about 1 1/2 inches of space between them.
- Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass and sprinkle more sugar on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies are golden.
- Once baked, cool the cookies on wire racks.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week at room temperature, or refrigerate for two weeks. For longer storage, freeze for up to three months.
