Description

A classic Italian-American dish combining tender chicken with a rich sauce from Marsala wine and mushrooms, perfect for weeknight dinners or special gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • Olive oil
  • Butter
  • Cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Marsala wine
  • Heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts in half lengthwise and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge in flour, shaking off excess.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken cutlets and sear for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add remaining butter to the skillet, then add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3-5 minutes until browned and tender.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and pour in Marsala wine. Simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add heavy cream and reserved chicken, cooking for an additional 4-5 minutes until heated through and sauce thickens.

Notes

For a richer taste, consider using chicken thighs. Can substitute Marsala wine with dry sherry or chicken broth with vinegar. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
