Description

A rich, decadent chocolate cake with a velvety texture, perfect for Easter celebrations and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the cream until just boiling, then pour it over the chopped dark chocolate. Let it sit for about a minute, then stir until smooth.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy. Add the chocolate mixture and mix well.
  4. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then gently fold until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an elegant touch, serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
