Description

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, salt, and instant yeast in a large bowl until combined.
  2. Add the water to the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for 12 to 18 hours at room temperature.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place your Dutch oven inside to heat up.
  5. Turn the risen dough out onto a well-floured surface and shape it into a ball.
  6. Remove the heated Dutch oven from the oven, place the dough inside, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool the bread on a rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Store the bread in a paper bag at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze slices for up to 3 months.
