Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the melted butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl. Whisk in the eggs one at a time.
  3. Add the vanilla extract, red food coloring, and cocoa powder; stir until mixed smoothly.
  4. Fold in the flour until just combined. Reserve 1/4 cup of brownie batter.
  5. Pour the remaining brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar, an additional egg, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread this over the brownie layer.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the reserved batter on the cheesecake layer. Use a toothpick to swirl the layers together.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes until set in the center. Allow cooling completely before slicing.

Notes

Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled. Best paired with coffee or vanilla ice cream.
