Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Optional: chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool for 15 minutes.
  4. Poke holes all over the top of the cake using a wooden spoon or fork. Mix sweetened condensed milk and chocolate syrup in a separate bowl, and pour over the warm cake.
  5. Let the cake cool completely, then spread whipped topping over the top and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Garnish if desired and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
