- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup chocolate syrup
- 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Optional: chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool for 15 minutes.
- Poke holes all over the top of the cake using a wooden spoon or fork. Mix sweetened condensed milk and chocolate syrup in a separate bowl, and pour over the warm cake.
- Let the cake cool completely, then spread whipped topping over the top and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Garnish if desired and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
