Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate chips and butter together in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  3. Whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture into the egg-sugar mix.
  5. Fold in the heavy cream and cocoa powder until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Serve chilled or at room temperature with optional toppings.
