Description

A rich and moist dark chocolate cake perfect for any celebration, easy to make and sure to please chocolate lovers.


Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Mix until well combined. Stir in boiling water until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or chocolate ganache for a special touch. Store in an airtight container.
