- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
- Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Mix until well combined. Stir in boiling water until smooth.
- Pour the batter into prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or chocolate ganache for a special touch. Store in an airtight container.
