Description

A delightful and easy meal featuring tender chicken breasts simmered in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for busy weekdays and family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, rice vinegar, ginger, and black pepper.
  2. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over the chicken.
  3. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, allowing the flavors to meld as the chicken becomes tender.
  4. (Optional) To thicken the sauce, combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl, mix until smooth, and stir into the slow cooker 30 minutes before serving. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate chicken in the sauce before cooking. Adjust sweetness by modifying honey amount, and consider adding vegetables for a nutritious boost.
