Delicious Crock Pot Birria Tacos filled with tender, flavorful shredded pork and rich birria sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs pork roast
- 2 cups birria sauce
- 12 corn tortillas
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup cilantro, chopped
- Lime wedges for serving
- Salt to taste
- Cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Place the pork roast in the crock pot and season generously with salt.
- Pour the birria sauce over the pork, ensuring it is well coated.
- Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 480 minutes, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Shred the pork using two forks, removing any large chunks. Warm the corn tortillas in a skillet, then assemble the tacos by placing the shredded pork on each tortilla. Top with chopped onion, cilantro, and cheese if desired. Serve with lime wedges on the side for that zesty kick!
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For extra crispy tacos, lightly fry the assembled tacos in oil before adding the toppings.
