Crispy Teriyaki Tofu


Description

A delightful vegan dish featuring crispy tofu coated in a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu, pressed and drained
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut the pressed tofu into cubes and place them in a bowl.
  2. Pour the soy sauce and teriyaki sauce over the tofu and gently toss.
  3. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Gently toss the marinated tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and add the tofu cubes.
  6. Cook until golden and crispy on all sides, about 10-15 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and garnish with sliced green onions.
  8. Serve over a bed of cooked rice.

Notes

Press tofu thoroughly and consider marinating longer for deeper flavor. Avoid overcrowding the skillet for even cooking.
