Ingredients

- Mozzarella cheese sticks
- All-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- Red pepper flakes to taste
Instructions
- Cut the mozzarella sticks in half if desired, to create bite-sized pieces.
- Set up a breading station with three bowls: flour, beaten eggs, and bread crumbs mixed with salt and pepper.
- Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, then dip in eggs, and finally roll in bread crumbs until well-coated.
- Heat oil in a pot until it reaches 350°F (175°C) then fry the sticks until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes each side.
- Remove the sticks with a slotted spoon and let them drain on paper towels.
- Heat tomato sauce in a saucepan and add red pepper flakes.
- Serve hot with spicy marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
For extra crunch, consider double-dipping in breadcrumbs. Serve immediately for best texture.
