Description

Irresistibly crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside, these crispy mozzarella sticks are perfect for parties or as a fun appetizer.


Ingredients

Scale
  • Mozzarella cheese sticks
  • All-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • Red pepper flakes to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the mozzarella sticks in half if desired, to create bite-sized pieces.
  2. Set up a breading station with three bowls: flour, beaten eggs, and bread crumbs mixed with salt and pepper.
  3. Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, then dip in eggs, and finally roll in bread crumbs until well-coated.
  4. Heat oil in a pot until it reaches 350°F (175°C) then fry the sticks until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes each side.
  5. Remove the sticks with a slotted spoon and let them drain on paper towels.
  6. Heat tomato sauce in a saucepan and add red pepper flakes.
  7. Serve hot with spicy marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double-dipping in breadcrumbs. Serve immediately for best texture.
