Ingredients

  • 1 block Extra-Firm Tofu
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger, grated
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  3. Coat the tofu cubes evenly with cornstarch.
  4. Whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a separate bowl.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Add the tofu and fry until golden and crispy on all sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  7. Toss the crispy tofu in the prepared honey garlic sauce until well-coated.
  8. Serve hot, garnished as desired.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double-coating the tofu with cornstarch. Ensure oil is hot enough before adding tofu.
