Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb firm white fish fillets (like cod or haddock)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Tartar sauce for dipping
Instructions

- Cut the fish fillets into stick-shaped pieces.
- Set up three shallow bowls: one with seasoned flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder.
- Dredge each fish stick in the flour, dip in the eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the fish sticks in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the cooked fish sticks to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges and tartar sauce.
Notes
For a healthier option, consider baking the fish sticks instead of frying. Using panko breadcrumbs enhances the crunch.
