Description

A perfect blend of crunchy coating and tender fish, these crispy fish sticks are a family favorite that can be enjoyed by all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb firm white fish fillets (like cod or haddock)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • Tartar sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the fish fillets into stick-shaped pieces.
  3. Set up three shallow bowls: one with seasoned flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder.
  4. Dredge each fish stick in the flour, dip in the eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the fish sticks in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the cooked fish sticks to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes.
  7. Serve hot with lemon wedges and tartar sauce.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider baking the fish sticks instead of frying. Using panko breadcrumbs enhances the crunch.
