Description

A delightful appetizer featuring creamy crab filling encased in crispy wonton wrappers, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 oz crab meat (real or imitation), finely chopped
  • Wonton wrappers
  • Water, for sealing
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Gather all your ingredients and tools. Make sure the cream cheese is softened. Thinly slice the green onions and chop crab meat finely.
  2. Mixing: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
  3. Filling: Spoon about 1 tsp of crab mixture onto each wonton wrapper. Avoid overfilling.
  4. Sealing: Wet edges of wonton wrappers with water, fold to form a triangle or purse shape, and seal tight.
  5. Cooking: Heat oil in a frying pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry wontons in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Finishing: Allow to cool before serving to enhance flavors.

Notes

Pair with sweet and sour or soy sauce for dipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
