Description
A delightful dish combining tangy balsamic vinegar with rich heavy cream, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
- Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through, then set aside.
- Using the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the balsamic vinegar and bring to a gentle simmer, allowing it to reduce by half for around 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and let the sauce cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until it thickens.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, ensuring each piece is well coated with the sauce.
- Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken in balsamic vinegar for a few hours before cooking. Substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
