Description
A delightful and creamy frosting that brings a tangy sweetness to cakes, cupcakes, and more.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk (optional, for consistency)
Instructions
- Start by placing the softened cream cheese and butter into a large mixing bowl, letting them soften at room temperature.
- Using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually add in the powdered sugar, about one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition to avoid lumps.
- Stir in the vanilla extract. If the frosting is too thick, add milk gradually until desired consistency is reached.
- The frosting is ready to use! Spread it over your favorite cake or cupcakes.
Notes
Store any leftover frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for up to three months. Thaw in the refrigerator before use.
