A lighter twist on the classic chicken parmesan, featuring creamy cottage cheese, marinara sauce, and melty mozzarella for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil, for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  3. Spread half of the marinara sauce in a baking dish, place the seared chicken on top, and spoon cottage cheese over it.
  4. Pour the remaining marinara sauce on top, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  5. Garnish with freshly chopped basil before serving.
