- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil, for garnishing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Spread half of the marinara sauce in a baking dish, place the seared chicken on top, and spoon cottage cheese over it.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce on top, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with freshly chopped basil before serving.
