- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup coconut cream
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt to create the dry blend.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well-blended.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer until hot enough for frying.
- Using a piping bag, pipe the donut batter into the hot oil in round shapes and fry until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Allow the donuts to cool completely before filling.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the coconut cream and shredded coconut until smooth.
- Once the donuts are cool, use a piping bag to fill each donut with the coconut cream mixture.
- Dust lightly with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Serve these donuts warm for the best experience. Garnish with extra shredded coconut or chocolate drizzle if desired.
