Description

A beloved comfort food featuring tender egg noodles in a creamy sauce with tuna and peas, topped with cheese and breadcrumbs.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups egg noodles
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 can (5 oz) tuna, drained
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions, then drain thoroughly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, drained tuna, frozen peas, chopped onion, and drained noodles. Stir until uniform.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste and gently fold in half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle remaining cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbling and golden brown.

Notes

For added texture, try using crushed potato chips or panko breadcrumbs on top. You can also sauté the onions for enhanced flavor.
