- 1 ½ lbs lean ground beef
- 1 cup diced onion
- ¾ cup bread crumbs
- ⅓ cup broth or water
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp ground black pepper
- ¾ cup ketchup
- 1 Tbsp white vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Combine the ground beef, diced onion, bread crumbs, broth, eggs, garlic powder, tomato paste, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it onto the lined baking sheet or pack it into a greased loaf pan.
- Bake the meatloaf uncovered for about 40 minutes, then spread the ketchup mixture over the top and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to help the juices redistribute.
Notes
Do not overmix the ingredients to avoid a tough meatloaf. Lean meat is recommended for best results.
