Description

A traditional Classic Meatloaf that offers a delightful mix of flavors and textures, making it a perfect dish for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • ¾ cup bread crumbs
  • ⅓ cup broth or water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Combine the ground beef, diced onion, bread crumbs, broth, eggs, garlic powder, tomato paste, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it onto the lined baking sheet or pack it into a greased loaf pan.
  4. Bake the meatloaf uncovered for about 40 minutes, then spread the ketchup mixture over the top and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to help the juices redistribute.

Notes

Do not overmix the ingredients to avoid a tough meatloaf. Lean meat is recommended for best results.
