Description

A creamy, flavorful, and versatile dip perfect for snacking and Mediterranean dishes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Paprika or sumac for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, cumin, and salt.
  2. Blend the mixture until smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary.
  3. If the mixture is too thick, add water gradually until desired consistency is achieved.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with olive oil, paprika or sumac, and parsley if desired.

Notes

For ultra-smooth hummus, peel the chickpeas before blending. Experiment with different flavors by adding roasted garlic or herbs.
