- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, then drain excess fat. Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, simmer for about 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and pepper to create a creamy filling.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a baking dish, layer 3 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the mozzarella, and more meat sauce. Repeat, finishing with noodles, remaining meat sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for 15 more minutes until bubbly and golden. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving, garnish with basil if desired.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients and allow the meat sauce to simmer for maximum flavor integration. Let the lasagna rest before slicing for easier serving.
