Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing until just combined.
  6. Mix the brown sugar with additional ground cinnamon for the topping.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over it.
  8. Pour the remaining batter on top and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  10. Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an extra touch, serve warm with powdered sugar on top, alongside coffee or tea.
