Description

A warm and comforting bread infused with the aroma of cinnamon and sweet apples, perfect for pairing with coffee or as a dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Make a well in the center and add the melted butter and the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough begins to form.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, approximately 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll the risen dough out into a rectangle. Sprinkle with diced apples and brown sugar, then twist gently.
  6. Place the twisted dough into a greased loaf pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Allow the bread to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, alone or with butter. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
