Description

A delightful combination of crunchy Saltine crackers topped with sweet toffee, melted chocolate, and a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar.


Ingredients

  • Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Bring to a gentle boil for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, spreading it evenly. Bake for 5-6 minutes until bubbly.
  5. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let them melt for a few minutes.
  6. Spread the melted chocolate gently and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Allow to cool before breaking into pieces.

Notes

For a nutty twist, add chopped nuts before the chocolate. For a spicy kick, mix in a dash of cayenne pepper.
