Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  5. Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool in the pan before transferring to a wire rack, then slice into bars.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or freeze for up to three months.
