Description

Chocolate Fudge Cake is the ultimate dessert for any chocolate lover. This rich, moist cake is perfect for birthdays and celebrations, or simply as a sweet treat after dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  3. Add eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in boiling water; the batter will be thin.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a deeper chocolate flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of instant espresso powder to the dry ingredients.
