- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a doughnut pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared doughnut pan, filling each cavity about halfway.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the baked doughnuts cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- If desired, glaze the doughnuts or dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Store leftover doughnuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
