Ingredients

- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp salt
- 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until fluffy and light.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well until fully incorporated.
- Gradually stir in the all-purpose flour and salt until well combined. Roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thick and cut out heart shapes.
- Place cookies on a lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool cookies on a wire rack. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and dip cooled cookies in it, letting excess drip off.
- Optional: Decorate with sprinkles or drizzle with white chocolate.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for two weeks. Layer cookies with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
